Running Therapy

Running can be transformational; so can trauma-informed, body-focused psychotherapy, and combining them creates unique potential for change.

This holistic approach can help you think more adaptively, process intense emotions, rebalance your nervous system, and release greater creativity. You don't have to be an experienced runner to benefit from this approach; we will go at a comfortable pace for you, including walking and jogging! 

​

Working on your therapeutic goals while your body is in motion harnesses the benefits of exercise and being in nature with the power of bilateral stimulation and the regulating influence of an attuned partner alongside you.

​

Although there are few practitioners in the US, running therapy dates back to the 1970s and gained particular traction in Germany. Over the past fifteen years, my own running practice, ranging from 5Ks to ultra-marathons, has changed my life.  I am also a RRCA certified running coach, but the running therapy I offer isn't about improving pace, form, or mileage. Instead, it is an innovative pathway towards personal growth.
